CNC transfer
Why are DNC-Max receives getting cut off or taking too long to finish?
Updated
Direct answer
Receive Timeout tells DNC-Max how long to wait after the last received character before declaring the transfer complete. A value that is too short can truncate a program when the control pauses between characters; a value that is too long forces DNC-Max to sit idle after every completed transfer before saving and processing the file. The correct value is specific to the control, communication speed, and its longest normal pause.
Practical checkpoint
Watch a representative machine's actual send pattern, set Receive Timeout a few seconds above its longest normal gap, and test both a short and a large program. Increase it if files truncate; reduce it if clean transfers finish but processing still feels unnecessarily slow.
