How do I safely purge old NC-Base backups without deleting needed versions?

NC-BaseBackup retentionVersion history

Direct answer

In NC-Base Maintenance, Purge Backups can remove backup files older than a chosen number of days while retaining a minimum number of recent versions for each program. Because the purge cannot be undone, use Calculate before Start. The preview reports how many files would be deleted, how much storage would be recovered, and how many versions would remain, without changing anything.

Practical checkpoint

Enter the intended age and minimum-version rules, click Calculate, and review all three results. If the deletion count, recovered space, or versions remaining is unexpected, change the retention values and calculate again before running the purge.
