What should an MDM backup contain?

Updated

MDMDatabase backup

Direct answer

An MDM backup can preserve database tables and configuration, while a full content backup must also include the managed files—NC programs, CAD/CAM data, pictures, setup documents, and other production records. A settings-only backup is useful for configuration recovery but is not a substitute for protecting the actual manufacturing content.

Practical checkpoint

Restore the backup into a safe test environment and confirm that configuration, hierarchy, permissions, metadata, and representative files all open correctly.
