Why is CIMCO Edit Ultra reporting collisions during normal cutting?

Updated

CIMCO Edit UltraCollision DetectionStock Compare

Direct answer

The cutter is expected to contact the workpiece during a cutting move, so checking every tool-to-workpiece contact can bury useful warnings in normal engagement. For routine collision review, scope that pair to rapid moves and use Stock Compare when the question is whether cutting removed too much or too little material. A small, validated cutter allowance can also reduce false contact caused by triangulated STL surfaces.

Practical checkpoint

Inspect which component pair and move type produced the warning before suppressing it. Confirm that rapid-to-stock, holder, fixture, and hidden-model collisions still remain detectable after tuning.
