ERP or MES usually owns the work order, planned quantity, schedule, routing, and expected cycle. MDC owns what happened at the equipment: state, actual cycle, part events, downtime, and operator context. Integration should exchange the minimum facts needed while preserving one authoritative owner for each field.

Create a field-by-field ownership table before integration and reject any design where two systems can independently overwrite the same fact.
